Navigating your sleep health is a multi-faceted journey. You’ve heard us say, your health is a 360 picture: your nutrition can impact your stress, your stress can impact your sleep, your sleep can impact your strength, and so on. It’s all interconnected and important to take into account when trying to improve your sleeping habits!

1. SCHEDULE A MOVEMENT BREAK
This could look like going on a 30 minute walk, strength training, a yoga class, etc. Moving your body can keep you alert during the day and help you fall asleep at night. Your body will naturally want to recover after movement, and the best way it knows how to, is through sleep!

2. SET A BOUNDARY WITH YOUR FRIEND, CAFFEINE.
Caffeine affects your sleep, period. You may rely on it to keep you alert in the afternoon, but then it affects your sleep that night, making you more tired the next day – it’s a vicious cycle. We suggest calling it quits by noon as it can take anywhere from 6-10 hours for your body to eliminate caffeine (learn more about it here!).
3. SET A BEDTIME ALARM
You set an alarm to tell you to wake up, do the same to tell you to go to bed! It acts as your evening reminder to start winding down (i.e. clean up your dishes, do your skincare routine, brush your teeth, shut down the TV). If your goal is to be asleep by 10:30pm, set your bedtime alarm for 9:45pm … right now.
