There is nothing quite like a dish that is made with simple, fresh ingredients. When I traveled Italy years ago I always ordered a Caprese salad to start for the table and it never got old. When the summer season comes around and tomatoes are in season, this dish is always top on my list. I definitely recommend splurging on the organic, local produce when it comes to a salad like this because you just can’t quite beat the taste. Buon Appetito!

Prep Time – 8 minutes
Servings – 2-4
  • 4 fresh ripe tomatoes – sliced
  • fresh mozzarella – sliced
  • fresh basil leaves
  • good quality olive oil
  • sea salt
  1. Slice tomatoes, mozzarella and basil and arrange on your plate. Generously drizzle with olive oil and sea salt and let sit for 5-10 minutes to marinate.
